Our Beginning:

R&B Trees was founded by Robin and Ben Martin, who have grown the company into a multi-million-dollar business in just five years. The journey hasn’t been without its challenges. Ben struggled with sobriety for most of his life, moving from job to job while battling alcoholism. Everything changes when Ben discovers his passion for trees. He started taking on tree jobs on weekends, quickly realizing that this was his calling. Before launching a tree company, Robin set one condition: Ben had to stay sober for a year. With Robin's support and his newfound passion, Ben achieved sobriety. It has now been seven years (eight in March) since Ben achieved sobriety, and R&B Trees is thriving.

R&B Trees was founded by Robin and Ben Martin. The pair have successfully built R&B Trees to a multi-million dollar company in 5 short years. It hasn’t always been easy. Ben struggled with sobriety most of his adult life jumping from job to job, always working but was a functioning alcoholic, sometimes worse.

Then Ben discovered trees. He began working tree jobs on the weekends, and soon he knew this was his passion. He was making more money on the weekends than in his regular job and he wanted to start a tree company. Robin agreed on one condition. He had to stay sober for a year first. Her support along with his passion for trees got him sober. It has now been 6 years (7 in March) since Ben took his last drink of alcohol. R&B Trees is thriving under his leadership.

Ben started with just a chainsaw and a pickup truck—a pickup he still drives today. Now, he leads a team of trained arborists who provide top-notch tree care safely and professionally. Several team members have also faced addiction challenges, but with Ben’s guidance and leadership, they’ve achieved and maintained sobriety through a shared passion for trees and hard work. “Helping others follow the same path I took to sobriety has been incredibly rewarding,” said Martin. Equipped with a crane, bucket truck, spider lift, and grapple truck, the R&B team can handle any tree job in Oklahoma with efficiency, skill, and pride.

Community Involvement:

You will often see the R&B Crane set up at charity events flying the American Flag. Ben has a big heart and is committed to helping those that cannot afford tree service. After the 2020 ice storm in Oklahoma City the demand for charity grew to a level that R&B could not financially sustain, so they formed a nonprofit called Share & Care Releaf, inc. in 2021.

Since that time Share & Care Releaf has helped dozens of nonprofits, schools, community parks, veterans, single moms and churches remove dangerous trees with a commitment to replanting to maintain and expand the tree canopy in Oklahoma.

R&B Trees continues to be Share & Care Releaf’s biggest supporter donating hundreds of labor hours a year to help care for the trees of those that cannot afford it. “R&B Trees is committed to supporting Share & Care Releaf. They are a part of who we are as a company,” said Martin.
